Welcome from the Head
For 29 years, we have consistently provided quality affordable private education for the children of our community. And it is our intent and goal to remain in the community for another 29 years.
We realize that we, along with the rest of our country, are facing some economic challenges that will require some adjustments in our method of operation. Through the wisdom, support and many hours of deliberation by our Board of Directors, along with myself and my leadership team, we have developed a plan that we are confident will sustain the school through these financial challenges.
The plan begins with a reconfiguration of the school which will allow a reformation of our current educational model. After assessing our areas of strength and frailty, we have decided to center our attention in the area of Early Childhood Education, from Preschool through 3rd grade. Zion has one of the largest Early Childhood Education Centers in our community and for years have been a leader in this area.
Children who come through our preschool division become strong scholars who are kindergarten ready. Our teachers are experienced instructors and very knowledgeable of the curriculum. The solid foundation that serves as anchor for our preschool scholars, is girded with a strong math and reading curriculum by our experienced teachers in Kindergarten through Third grade.
The second phase of the plan, which will provide great stability for Zion Prep Academy, will allow the school to become 60% self-supporting. The remaining 40% will be attained through fundraising.
The changes that we have made have had an impact on our families and staff, but this will ensure the perpetuity of the school. We have made a conscious decision, we are prepared to meet the challenges, and “WE CHOOSE TO STAY.”
